Taylor-Joy has five siblings four from her father's prior marriage. They were initially from Buenos Aires, but moved to Victoria when she was six years old. Taylor Joy stated that moving from Buenos aires to Victoria was difficult as she was unable to take the time to learn English and was hoping to go back to Argentina. Her school had to change from Northlands in order to attend Hill House. Then she attended Queen's Gate School where she trained in ballet and appeared in school productions. After 16 she decided to leave school to focus fully on acting. At a very young age, Taylor-Joy knew that she wanted to work as an actress. her dreams came true when she was offered a modeling job from Sarah Doukas the founder of Storm Management.
